'94 Expos SNAFU

PostTue Sep 01, 2015 12:41 pm

Has anyone else noticed that the Defensive ratings for about half of the newly added 1994 Montreal Expos batters are off? The on-line ratings don't match the values in the download from the Salaries_Public_ATG8 Excel spreadsheet they provide.

As an example, Wil Cordero is ss-3e33 on-line, but the spreadsheet says supposed to be “ss-4e34 / lf-3(0)e16 / 1b-5e13”. Sean Berry, Darrin Fletcher, Mike Lansing, Randy Milligan, Larry Walker and Lenny Webster also don’t match.

I’ve inquired to S-O-M about it but haven’t heard anything back yet.

Yea, I told them about this last week. They are not good at owning up to mistakes, or fixing them.

They've apparently fixed the Excel download. I've yet to check it.

They probably mix 1994 with 1995. Cordero started in the outfield only in 1995--in 1994 he only played at ss. Lansing was still used in multiple positions in 1994, this is why he was not given a higher score than 2b-3, even though he had won the starting job. In 1995, he got the 2b-2, which is closer to my memory of him.
