Credit where credit is due

PostMon Apr 13, 2015 12:49 am

With all the grassy knoll theories circulating and criticism of Strato (I have done my share over the years) I thought I should give them credit they are due regarding the upcoming player additions.

I sent this email....
TSN used to give us teasers for selected new cards, both ATG and 200x.
Wondering if Strato would do TSN one better. Show the cards with all the ratings for all the new cards just voted in. Should be possible to show all but price at this point.

Their response...
Yes, we should be able to do this. Look for them Thursday on the blog and then the launch of the cards next week.

Here is the link from the Garcia blog.

Had not noticed until I looked at these previews we did not vote in a single reliever. Is it possible that most of us believe the game already has all the relievers that are worthy of ATG?

1) thank you, Strat
2) thank you, Valen
3) o-o-o, Magglio (not sure that ever caught on in Detwah, but in Chgo, even a stone (but now that Ernie is gone, recovering) Cubs fan can salute the baseball of Mags)
4) RESPECTFULLY, would someone like to check-out that Grabarkewitz card and re-ask the 'why' question? he looks like a pretty affordable choice at 3b or 2b to me
5) Valen, sir, did one of those links want to be a link to pitchers? I did not see any
6) nor ballparks, although there was a ballparks tab

To see the pitchers, click on the player link. Then access the drop down menu that lets you search by position in a regular league. Select pitchers and you are in business.

With the unique player rule there are probably not a lot of desirable pure relievers to chose from. I would gladly nominate 1965 Bob Lee though. He was a tad better in 1964, but he started 5 games.

Frank Bailey is correct. To see the pitchers just need to select the pitcher position. Once you click on the link works like any free agent screen except only shows the new players.

Strato came through on this one. I like what they did allowing us to quickly see all the new cards in one place like this. Even better than the old style teasers, though the old way possibly created more discussion.

Now that we can see all the cards anyone want to guess at any of the prices?

Agree. Depending on the pricing could be a starter in low cap leagues or could be a functional utility infield choice.
Good call by whomever nominated the card.

Im glad you posted this, sometimes by the tone of some of the post you would think nobody enjoys the game. Some others think that a losing streak is some kind of a plot to derail their coronations as KINGS of Strat. I have been at this game since the ATG 1 through the present ATG 8. I buy 5 games a month and will continue to do so . I enjoy the game , of course there is always room for improvements but overall I think the game is great especially at the lower caps when a players stats are realized more often. I dont get all the crying that goes on about this game. Thanks for the positive input. Bill
