I'm with you Jimbo, but I think the only way that's ever gonna happen is if Strat decided to drop in whole teams the way it all started

The challenge with finding good bench players is that you kinda have to see the card (and know the price) to see if a player is going to be a good bench filler. One way to accomplish this would be to look through the 20xx and maybe the mystery card leagues to find useful low-priced leagues to nominate. We would see the cards and would have at least a ballpark idea of pricing.

If we got a group of folks together in advance who were ready to nominate some of these low-price players, we might get 4 or 5 of them into the set next time around. These players could include both cheap but effective platoon players and useful backup guys.

Any takers to join me in doing the research and building up a pool of these players, then politicking to get votes for them? ;)

I still say, drop a few 1990s TEAMS in. Our current scrubs are here because ATG used to be ALL TIME GREAT TEAMS. We are nominating a lot of 1990s-2000s STARS, but NO SCRUBS. Makes it difficult to create Franchise leagues with 1990s and up, or just a 80-100 cap team which needs cheap scrubs.

I say, drop in the 1994 Expos, 1993 Chicago White Sox, 2007 Rockies, 2008 Rays, 2003 Marlins, 2002 D'Backs, and 1998 Padres. These EXP franchises are weak. Could add a lot of new players to help franchise leagues, not to mention some new scrubs...........and while we're at it, add those corresponding parks as well.

I agree with the dropping in of teams, but I would put in the 2005 White Sox, 2009 Rockies, 1997 Marlins, 1999 D'Backs in addition to the Expo, Rays and Padre teams that you cited.

I'd be all for dropping in team if the "Powers that Be" will do it. That could be our player add for the next round...

What if we suggested that players could nominate, say, 20 teams and voting for, say, the top 5 or top 10? I think SOM likes the nominating / voting process, since it gets potential managers involved. So if we make that part of the bit, in might help.

However, getting SOM to follow one of our suggestions will be the challenge. Still, we can try.

Well...
since you are forcing me to be honest- I mean forcing...
I think there has been some movement on willingness to listen to the community- so have to give credit for that.
Think we are still tackling some of the lower hanging fruit though with player additions,
rather than going after the bigger game engine stuff;
but some willingness to do things is most definitely an improvement.

Well, I'm talking about adding teams to assist certain franchises, in addition to giving some more scrubs. I'm afraid a full-on community vote would turn into a popularity contest and not help alleviate the problem I feel needs correcting.
