Do the various highlight colors within the spreadsheets mean anything in particular? I can't find a key anywhere, so I got curious.

The color codes are connected with a series of polls that we conducted several months ago to be able to go to SOM with community desires for new cards. red=please, highly desirable; yellow=desirable; light blue=when you get the chance; dark blue=in a few years; purple=well, you get the idea...

I had placed about 75 hitters and 75 pitchers per month (more or less depending on the month) non-scientifically on a poll site and people voted on them. I should probably take the colors away, but they do provide an interesting snapshot of thinking at a certain time for certain players.

While we're at it, the other codes are: BRC=better representative card; BIP=Bill(me)'s idiosyncratic pick; SITH=significant impact on team history (among team leaders in games played at a particular position or record holder in team stats); TEAM=member of best teams by record in 22-season blocks (1900-1922; 1923-1944; 1945-1966; 1967-1988; 1989-2010) here is the link https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16Q7vZ0PsRFcvAXRHPUVhKqWG2k3SB-itvyqyvnC5HzQ/edit?authkey=CJWWpZUG&authkey=CJWWpZUG#gid=0 -- struckthrough years means that they have been added to the wish list already); HOF=best year of a Hall of Fame member; WS=member of World Series teams (this was started many years ago when the suggestion was made and I started with 1932 Cubs-Yankees for no particular reason, and then I realized that it would probably make the list unwieldy so I stopped -- but kept the '32 season). There have been suggestions about rookie of the year winners; I will be adding those soon.

I try to keep up with all the suggestions that are made on the various threads. If you don't see a name or a year (player or team) you'd like to put on it, drop me a line. The new process of nominating and voting (let's cross our fingers that it continues) is better on many levels, but the list might give people some nominating choices especially down the line when their own short list is included in ATG.

I see a glaring omission and this would be my next nomination. The runner-up for AL ROY 1958 and has a HOFer named after him. 1958 Ryne Duren card. The only current Duren card is from the Phillies not even his 1959 season.

Add Jose Cruz 2001 to the list of wanted hitters.
With people asking for Caminiti, Brady Anderson, probably going to be asking for Gonzalez soon. Found in the 2001 game Cruz jr outplayed the career year Gonzalez for half the money. If that bargain value carries over to ATG might as well have him available.

30/30 guy who could also be a valuable piece for Toronto in franchise leagues. And also for anyone running a father/son theme team.

I think both his 1887 and 1890 cards should be included over time.

some good and some bad cards...is anyone really upset if they have to take the Ruth 21 card instead of the 23..how much of an incremental difference will it make?

as we move forward i wish to see..
1.an emphasis on players that should but do not have cards ( Pedroia?),
2.the buffing up of some franchises that need some help (maybe we can assign a spokesperson to rep certain teams to nominate the card for the franchise- I can rep the Jays!!)
3. awards list players (but we certainly do not need an eric hinske card before the Pedroia).

I'm of the opinion that active players can wait their turn. All in all I'm very happy with the new additions though! :)

I'm also not a fan of pre 1900 players, but I agree if we're gonna have Keeler we should have his best year. I don't really understand this Keeler that got voted in, maybe hes price range fits him in 80 or 100 leagues?
