But seriously, you should ignore Ignore Park Effects. It treats the Park Effects like they're not there. If there's a # and it's followed by a HR, then Ignore Park Effects treats it as a HR.

Zero Park Effects is a park with all zeros for HR and SI (0-0-0-0). It'll tell you the baseline value of a player card. If there's a # and it's followed by a HR, Zero Park Effects treats it as an out.

Thanks!

At one time I mainained a dabase myself where I entered everything by hand. Once completed I ran an analysis of this ignore park effects. I would do multiple calculations: One ignoring the # as if it was not there. So a HR 1-6,FO 7-12 was calculated just like that. Now if there was a # in front of it I did another calculation. I calculated how HR a batter gained or lost. in various parks. Since the # ignores the split reading and goes to ballpark ratings a 1-6 HR result with a # was calculated as gaining 14 HRs. Same card but placed in an extreme pitcher park where HR rating was 0 was considered having lost 6 HRS. Armed with this I could do a calculation on all the cards and identify those cards which were hindered most by a particular park There was more to it than that but I am getting sleepy.

Adrian, we're currently starting an SBDL draft and the most recent additions to the player pool (20) are showing on the card reader selection bar but are not showing up on the draft selection part of your site.

Just FYI, I'm sure it's an easy fix for you when you have the time and want to look at it.

Thanks

I have a question about the player pool page. I can sort of make out what the abbreviations mean but I don't quite understand the results. Are these percentages based on plate appearances?

Also, are these results based on the player's home ballpark or actual games that were played in that ballpark? I imagine it's the home ballpark otherwise one would need to go through all of the boxscores. :)

I think the player pool is strictly what is on the cards. It is not actuals from leagues or anything like that.
Perhaps if you cited specific columns/examples we might be able to be more helpful.

I originally thought the Card Reader page was what showed a breakdown on the cards but it does appear that the Player pool page shows the same data. The Player Pool page must be a way to grab everything and so you can show it on one page via spreadsheet.

I thought this site had some stats from past seasons (specifically 80s, ATG) so you can gauge a player's performance in a particular ballpark but maybe I'm thinking of another site.

Diamond Dope used to house actuals when we were on TSN. But that was a manual process that I built and ran. When we moved over to SOM, I did not carry that feature along. It's something SOM should have readily available. I wish they would provide it.

Is it me, or are the 20 most recent additions missing from the ATG 8 Excel player download?
