Playing Strat while the house is burning down!

This may well qualify as the worst Strat moment ever?

I had today off from work, so I've just been hangin' with my 9 year old daughter this afternoon: Goofing off; Watching some bad [i:ab405639c7]Disney Channell[/i:ab405639c7] TV; And surfing around these boards, checking my live drafts, etc. 8)

Anyway, about an hour ago, my wife calls to inform me that she's going to be working late and not to wait for her for dinner. So Maeghan (my daughter) starts telling me how "starving" she is and asking "when are we gonna eat"?

"No problem", says I, and I pop a couple of frozen pizzas into the oven.

Now, the lovely "Mrs. Coffee" is a terrific cook, but also a rather messy one!

A couple of nights ago she baked some delicious scalloped potatoes w/ham. But when she did, some of the sauce overflowed the baking dish and fell into the oven. Unfortunately, when I "popped" those frozen pizzas into the oven, I forgot about the mess left from the other night.

Anyway, I come back into the computer room, and I start goofing around on here again.

A few minutes later though, Maeghan starts shouting: "Daddy! Daddy! There's a fire in the kitchen!" :shock:

So I scramble into the kitchen and sure enough, there's smoke everywhere and I can see flames through the oven door window. When I open the oven door, there are flames shooting up about 8-10 inches from the spilled scalloped potatoe sauce on the bottom of the oven and the two frozen pizzas arer starting to catch on fire! :shock:

Anyway, I quickly surmise that things could get worse in a hurry, so I grab the fire extinguisher and spray all over the inside of the oven and the fire immediately goes out! 8)

However, "Mrs. Coffee" will be home shortly, and when she arrives she will find a house filled with smoke, the oven coverred with fire extinguisher stuff, and my daughter eager to tell her how Daddy was busy playing his "computer baseball" while the house was catching on fire! :cry:

How am I ever gonna get out of this one? :roll:

not that I'd do it, but tell her it's her fault. If she'd just clean up after herself instead of leaving the mess for somone else..... :?

you have to have the kind of relationship with your daughter like I have with my kids when any of us screw up the boss never finds out

I got a better one.... she gonna be mad :evil: that you were "playing" on the computer and not watching the delicious meal you were cooking. So
when she askes what you were going, tell her you were talking to me about tax tips :lol: to save you some money on your tax return to buy her a very very nice gift. :lol:

If that does not work, tell her you were looking for new porn sites. :shock: :shock: :shock:
