Rusty players after layoff?

Rusty players after layoff?

Postby Hack Wilson » Fri Jun 22, 2012 12:39 pm

I'm really worried that my players will be completely rusty after this long layoff. There could be hamstring issues, beer guts that have suddenly appeared, more than the usual number of STDs, arm and leg trouble in general.

Who knows what these guys have been doing with all their free time?

Yeah, I know it's a supposedly level playing field -- all your players may be out of ball playing shape, too --- but I'll be watching VERY closely what my players do, blaming everything I can on this equivalent of a Tommy John surgery-layoff for our Strat teams. And, I will reward and punish accordingly. :? :?

I'm sure Hack Wilson has been delicately subsiding on wheatgrass juice and tofu.

Wheatgrass juice is OK, but I despise tofu. 8-)

Ernie Andres and Bud Weiser have been trying to form a league of replacement players to fill in while the stars are all on strike and living the high life.

A painful name, to be sure.

Reminds one of the 2007 movie, "Teeth." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teeth_(film) :!: :?:  :(

I think most of my teams lately have been pounding those Budweisers DURING the games. :x

I only worried about my manager being focused after the layoff.

By the way, don't you hate it when people talk about themselves in the third person?

FUDU hates 3rd person speak, he hates it.

FUDU's rust is what FUDU is concerned with.

He's going through withdrawal right now.

Maybe Strat will come up with a different playoff format - like the baseball strike in 1981 - first half division leaders get playoff spot, when we start again, 2nd half winners meet 1st half winners??
