I tell myself and that player, he's going to the FA pile if he doesn't wake up.

Just going out on a limb here, but I'll bet you watch that show "The Dog Whisperer", too

speaking of bullpens....

I have had great sucess this year with a core group of cards. I feel if I can get 4 out of 5 of these guys my [b:3c46c8557f]overall[/b:3c46c8557f] staff will be in the top 5 of the league.

Either: Betancourt or Bell

Closer: Corpas/ Cordero/Valverde/Rivera/Fuentes and F.Rod in a pinch

Romero
Mahay
Chulk

Other cheapies that work if I miss on the others...Miner...Rodney...Proctor

I am sure there are some variations of this but I feel that either Betancourt or Bell is a must. They will toss 180 innings + everytime out.

Regardless of 4 or 5 man rote...this pen plan has weathered almost every season I have played in this set and elevated my starters in the process.

Hey try it sometime.

You tell me if it works or not.

I switched to Time Warner Cable about a year ago, and no longer get The Dog Wisperer.

on a side related note...I've consulted WITH my dog on lineups a few times. He usually goes with SLG at the top of the order.

I didn't think your team looked that bad in the beginning. Sometimes you just gotta cut it loose and move on.

Last year's Formula team did not even make the postseason. I caught a bad outlier, w/ Bay, Mauer, Guillen and Dye all underperforming. It happens.

I intended to post my whole autodraft card, waivers and everything else for this year's team, like in years past. Unfortunately, I set my pile of notes on the wrong part of the desk and the whole thing was inadvertently tossed out.

That happens too.

However, the quiet keyboard has led to better karma this year. Hopefully, things will work out!

Congrats [b:00866ea5f3]Aray[/b:00866ea5f3]!

As you saw from my [u:00866ea5f3]Secret Formula Theory in Action team[/u:00866ea5f3][/color:00866ea5f3] this year, I came up just short, losing Game 6 of the Finals to [b:00866ea5f3]Jeep[/b:00866ea5f3].

Nice job [b:00866ea5f3]Jeep[/b:00866ea5f3], you had a very competitive team!

That's the closest I've come so far in "calling my shot" but I guess for me it's on to [i:00866ea5f3]Wait 'til next year![/i:00866ea5f3]

Glad to see you found the thread helpful. Your team had a nice structure to it. Hopefully some other managers, esp the newer ones, will have some of your success.

Not sure if it's me or just the nature of the forums, but I wish there could've been more discussion and debate here. The boards are just kind of flat as we await the new card season.

Where's my ratings book???

My congrats as well Aray. I was your division rival that tied with your team then lost in the finals, game 7, in the bottom of the 10th inning. An exciting (yet disappointing) end to a good season. Who would have thought that Eric Munson would be the hero, getting a hit off of J.C. Romero. I think a big part of the success of our teams was that you had Bell and I had Betancourt. The fact that Bell go the win in the last two games of the finals while Betancourt got the loss was a big factor. I liked my team for the power that I had (went cheap on the starting pitching) and the Betancourt/Cordero combo. Congrats again. Here's a link to my team:
