Playing Cabrera 5e11 at First?

Can anyone give me their thoughts on the advisability of playing Miguel Cabrera 5e11 everyday at first base. How much will the 5 in defense range cost me? I'm in Turner which is a relatively neutral park.

I had Miggy DHing vs RH, playing 1B against LH. But my RH platoon-mate was Nick JOhnson, so he also got some time there vs. RH pitching, too. Didn't really hurt me at, far as I could tell. Did spell him defensively late in all games.

I won a No-DH league last year with Ortiz at first. I forget what his rating was, but it wasn't too good. Of course, he was an awesome hitter. I also have used Butler as a LH platoon at 1B this year. It helps if the rest of your team can really field. Not the worst move, but of course it would be better if you found another way to do it. A guy like Cabrera is an OK hitter, but nothing special. It helps if the rest of your team can really field.

Cabrera has been far more than OK for me at the plate -- led the league in RBI my first go-round, is pounding it for me on my 1st tourney team.

First Base is the only position where I could stomach having a 5 range defensive player (not counting the pitcher position, where I pay absolutely no attention to defense).

First Base X (along with RF/LF and P) has the lowest chance among x-rolls to come up. However unlike the OF positions, the potential of a disastrous result is not nearly as high.
