Question about *SPs

Question about *SPs

Postby LADodgers4Life » Thu Mar 12, 2009 4:23 am

Hello everyone,

I am a new manager to the strat world and I was wondering one thing:

I have been reading through the forums and was intrigued to hear that pitchers with a * means they can pitch on 3 days rest with no penalty?

So, does this mean that I could in essence only have a 4-man rotation if I have 4 *SPs? Or does HAL automatically fill in that last spot on the rotation?

Could I just go through every game and have them all start each game on 3 days rest to override HAL if they do fill that last spot?

These are the 4 pitchers I have:
Halladay
C.C.
Hamels
Billingsley

Thanks in advance for the help,
LA

click on rotation when setting up your team. Put the four * starters in the first four spots. Hal will only pitch those four pitchers thru the season

If I do this, there will be no fatigue penalty or anything?

no fatigue at all. If you don't already have a 50¢ 5th SP you should do so now to free up money for a pitcher that will never pitch. Put him in the #5 spot in your rotation and he will never be used unless you run out of pitchers in a long game.

Just make sure the .50c is not an SP/RP, or HAL will use him as a regular reliever.

not if you have him listed in your rotation (unless you run out of pitchers in a long game. In that case even a S only pitcher will be brought in to relieve).

The really nice thing about SP*s is you get two starts from your ace in the playoffs. By the way, that's an awesome rotation.

Thanks for the compliment. I do have Bronson Arroyo also as my .50 pitcher. I guess I will just stick him in the 5th spot.
