What would you do?

What would you do?

My first tour team just made the playoffs as a wild card in PNC winning 90 games. The first place team in my division won 96 games in Coors. I picked up Lackey at game 141, cutting L Castillo, Kazmir and KRod to afford Lackey. I picked him up for the specific purpose of starting vs the Coors team in the playoffs, as he's about .25 points lower in BA and .50+ in slugging vs RHP's and starts seven RH hitters vs RH starters. His only two non-RH hitters are Crawford & Reyes. These are Lackeys lines for the season(he stunk):
Me:0 4 0 0 36.2 40 25 21 10 36 5 5.15 1.36
All:5 10 0 109.1 138 75 32 97 6.17 1.55 (other = Citizens as home for a 1st place team)

I had Vazquez win 20 as my other RH starter. My question is, would you start Lackey oiver Vazquez in game one as he has the best chance of shutting down a RH heavy lineup or go with Vazquez, who was good all year? I already decided but I am curious as to what others think.

There is no doubt that you should start Lackey in game 1. You just have to look at the cards and Lackey is so much better vs RH batters than Vazquez.

I agree with LM! In one league I was in Harang was off the hook in the regular season, winning 24 games with a sub .300 ERA. And Josh Becket lost 23 games in the regular season. But I still went with Becket over Harang in the playoffs and Championship, and I won the league. Always go with the player's card over past performance. But who am I telling??? You know a lot more than me DJ! Good luck!

Lackey doesn't play up to his card! Leave him on the bench!

I've tried him on 4 different teams all with parks or good reasons he should do well. He sucks!!!

Yes, I know it doesn't make sense but it's true, just like there is no reason Dustin Pedroia should get injured 3 or 4 times a season, for 13-15 games a pop, and always right before the playoffs, but he does!!!

(or maybe that's just me.)
