What would you do?

What would you do?

I have Randy Johnson sitting on 31 wins...the record is 32...(He passed the tie for 2nd that was 30)

Tonite is the last series. I would love to tie the record, but it always seems you are looking to line up your playoff rotation. He is due to pitch game 162.

The only difference if I win the series is whether I win the division or win the wild card. The other division winners are tuff and would have home field advantage. I have a 6-6 record against the top team, and a 5-7 record against the other.

Thus if I lose the series without Randy pitching I would play at the best teams park.

Any ideas. Right now it looks like sit him out. I just hate to do it!!!

It depends on what is more important to you. If you were forced to pick one would you rather 1.) tie the most wins in a season record or 2.) win your league championship.

If your answer is #1 the pitch him and hope for the best. He would still get to pitch one game in the semi-finals and two games in the finals should you make it that far.

If your answer is #2 then the smart thing to do would be to sit him out to set up your rotation for the playoffs. He would be assured of pitching games 1 and 5 (if there is one) in the first series.

Actaully, the playoffs will start on Monday, and that will mean you have two days rest (saturday and Sunday) If I am not mistaking you should be able to pitch him either game 1 or game 2 of the opening round.

Hope that helps.
