Anyone wish to offer lineup advice for this Turner Field team? Players are as follows:

C-Snyder
1st-Konerko
2nd-L. Castillo
SS-Rollins
3rd-Lowell
RF-Drew
CF-Kotsay
LF-Berkman
Dh-Lawton

I have a general idea of what I want to do, but wouldn't mind some advice from the pros of this game. Thanks in advance.

How about:

Castillo
Kotsay
Berkman
Drew
Konerko
Lawton
Lowell
Snyder
Rollins

Against LHP you can move Lowell up a spot or two. Rollins can be like you 2nd lead off guy batting 9th.

Normally, you'd want someone with positive clutch hitting in the number five spot. Unfortunately, you don't have anyone with positive clutch. Konerko is as good as anyone (at least he isn't a choker).

Question - why are you using Snyder at C? He is not really well suited to a LH hitting park. Maybe dump him and get someone like Burke who has great positive clutch and bat him 5th...? :D

I've actually made a switch to Castillo at catcher. Poor mans version of Burke I guess. I can do slightly better if I downgrade Lawton for either B. Williams or even Grieve, but have had Lawton on a few teams and he's hit like a champ in all, plus he has 600 plus PA's. I have Kerry Robinson, Gomez, Amezaga and T. Hall as my four reserves, so I believe I am covered injury wise at all positions. Really hate spending money on any catcher not named Kendall with the 15 game injury possibility. Thanks for the replies, if anyone else wishes to chime in, feel free.

I believe Javy Lopez also makes the PA qualification to make his injuries no more than 3 games. Lopez and Kendall are the only catchers that do.

Yes, he does as well, but couldn't ever bring myself to owning him.

4s in the OF are bad news.

Jerry:

I just realized that not only is your team in my league, it is also in my division.

Your team looks good and I'm sure it will do well. Good luck.

Steve

berkman/drew is a strong middle of the order but your lineup is pretty short on really good OBP types in front of them. C Castillo has as good an OBP chance as 2b castillo and better than kotsay. You may want to look at swapping out overpriced rollins at ss with a less expensive choice and see if you can pick up a higher OBP player for lawton to fit into the #2 spot vs RHP.

My 2 cents.
