Help with Lineup

Postby CHARLESBELL » Mon Sep 12, 2005 6:18 pm

I'd also suggest the following lineup vs LHP

drew
kotsay
berkman
lowell
konerko
rollins
lawton
castillo, c
castillo, 2b

berkman not the ideal #3 because of his low xtra bases, but I wouldn't want to put him lower in the order and lowell/konerko fit well at #4/5. The two lefties at the top is a little unconventional but they both have killer OBP vs LHP and should be filling the base paths for the rest of your offense.

Lawton has to stay. My last 3 teams with him:
Complete at Tropicana: 33hrs, 96 rbis, 26 sbs, .272 ba, .353 obp
84 games at Safeco: 20hrs, 46 rbis, 18sbs, .286 ba, .383 obp
42 games at Safeco: 7hrs, 34 rbis, 3 sbs, .250 ba, .354 obp

Not bad for a dh at 2.01 million, can play all 3 of positions in a pinch, and 600 plus PAs. I''ve had worse stats at players double the coin. I wouldn't mind losing Rollins, but unfortunately, pickings are very slim. Season begins tonight, looks like this is my team. Thanks everyone for the help.

Thanks Steve, your team looks like the team to beat in our division. If you find your lefties are killing you at Wrigley, feel free to offer them up to me. Would love to have either of them.

JT Snow will do well at Wrigley (as well as at any leftie park), if he doesn't spend too much time on the DL.

Matsui doesn't fit well into Wrigley and I was tempted to go for someone like Jason Bay instead. However, I've got a soft spot for Matsui. I like the fact that he can't get injured and he always hits 100+ RBIs for me in Shea. Looking at our league, we have:

Petco X 3
Shea X 2
Minute Maid X 1
Yankee X 1
Tropicana X 1
Turner X 1
Gt American X 1
and
Wrigley X 2

So, out of 12 parks, 7 favour Lefties, 3 favour righties and 2 are neutral.

I wanted to have Matsui to have at least one decent LH bat for all of those LH parks (as well as Snow). We'll see whether that was a good decision or not as the season progresses... :)

That's cool, and you've certainly gotten great results from lawton. Good luck!
