[quote:e2ee7e881a="superflymacdaddyjuice"]Given the embarrassing state of SOM online at its new home, I will be rescinding my commitment to play in the next league. If they feel it is reasonable to treat customers like this, I feel my only recourse is to stop being a customer. It was a helluva run boys I wish you all the best going forward and will miss greatly our league and the comeraderie.[/quote:e2ee7e881a]

Hey Smokey,

I can understand your frustration, but it's a short term issue. I'm a computer professional and, trust me, no one is more upset about this than Bernie and, I'm sure, the people at SOM. They know this is hurting them.

Stones is right, they should have just shut down for a couple of weeks. I don't know who tested for them. I know I wasn't on the list. Obviously they missed a few things. I know I caught one problem when one of the teams in my AD league didn't have the right amount of salary left. I would think I wasn't the only one that reported it.

In any case, it will soon be up again and we'll be enjoying our teams (or get frustrated by them) I'd hate to see you go. If you enjoy it that much, are you sure you want to give it up?

I understand how frustrating it is, but this really isn't unusual in the computer biz. I sort of expected it to be honest.

I am in IT as well. That is how I know this was done carelessly and with little or no regard for their end users. They assumed too much about their capabilities and the pain threshold acceptable to their customers.

Smoke,

I agree to an extent. It is inexperience that is showing. I think it was a desire to have as short a down period as possible so they made optimistic projections.

If anything, I would say they were trying to MORE for the customer base than was advisable. They didn't do the necessary testing to make sure they could pull it off.

Not all that unusual or surprising if you ask me.

Now, what *is* surprising is how long it is taking to fix. Did they test at all?

[quote:94fcc08256="Jeepdriver"]BigA and I are tied 14 games each in a best of 113. First team to 57 wins it.[/quote:94fcc08256]

jd and me are tied at 42 wins each, the league office allowed our rosters to expand to 45 players since both of us already have used 18 different pitchers, 5 different catchers and 978 bat boys.

Did you hire any ball girls of the sort that Semper usually employs????????????? ;)

No, sir.

That would be well below the required and maintained standards of our organization.

Wow, I sort of like Semper's ball girls. ;) They look like they'd be quick on their feet too. ;)

Looks like the finals finally start tonight! Good luck to whoever is playing. It's been so long i've forgotten! ;)

We're tied 2 games each. Both of us have gone 1-1 the first two nights. So very, very closely matched squads it appears.
