[b:9ebf2cb0d7]1926-1946 Franchise League with Negro Leaguers [/b:9ebf2cb0d7]

To follow up our 1888-1925 Franchise League with NeLs, here is the [b:9ebf2cb0d7]1926-1946 version[/b:9ebf2cb0d7]. You will have the opportunity to play with a smaller set of players, use players you may not normally use, and add selected NeL players who didn’t get to participate during this era.

14 seasons, [b:9ebf2cb0d7]100m, DH[/b:9ebf2cb0d7] (I know there was no DH then, but gives better opportunity to use more players)

[b:9ebf2cb0d7]THIS IS A 14 SEASON COMMITMENT. [/b:9ebf2cb0d7]Managers rotate through the 14 teams; 2 teams per season will rotate out

Draft players carded to yoru franchise from 1926-1946. In addition, the AutoDraft follows [b:9ebf2cb0d7]ASSIGNED [/b:9ebf2cb0d7]and [b:9ebf2cb0d7]OFFLIMITS [/b:9ebf2cb0d7]players listed below. You [b:9ebf2cb0d7]ARE NOT REQUIRED[/b:9ebf2cb0d7] to draft your ASSIGNED players, they are simply yours [b:9ebf2cb0d7]exclusively [/b:9ebf2cb0d7]UNTIL the Auto-draft runs. You MAY PLACE players from rotated out teams on your Autodraft Card, just realize that others may be after them as well, so place them higher on your draft card. For example, for the 2 seasons when the A’s/Phillies are rotated out, Al Simmons could be grabbed as a Free Agent by the White Sox, Tigers, Browns/Sens, Reds, and Red Sox/Braves. Whew!

After the Auto-draft, any Free Agents who played for your franchise [b:9ebf2cb0d7]FROM 1926-1946[/b:9ebf2cb0d7] are eligible to be added to your team; [b:9ebf2cb0d7]Negro League Free Agents are not eligible[/b:9ebf2cb0d7]. You may ONLY use the NeLs assigned to you. You may ONLY use cards from 1926-1946.

Negro Leaguers may be traded, along with players carded to more than one team. These are the ONLY TRADES ALLOWED.

To keep things simple, 1926-1946 are the ONLY years that [b:9ebf2cb0d7]EXIST [/b:9ebf2cb0d7]for this league. You may ONLY use cards from 1926-1946. You may only use Free agents who played for your team FROM 1926-1946.

Each franchise has 3 stadium options, listed below with the franchises.

We will randomize for Team Rotation Order and Manager Rotation Order. We will use Lottery States to determine divisions, so please list one at sign-up.b

[b:9ebf2cb0d7]SPECIAL NOTES[/b:9ebf2cb0d7]: The Yankees are divided into TWO teams: the 1926-1934 Yankees ([b:9ebf2cb0d7]MURDERER’S ROW[/b:9ebf2cb0d7]) and the 1935-1946 Yankees ([b:9ebf2cb0d7]BRONX BOMBERS[/b:9ebf2cb0d7]). AFTER the Auto-draft, [b:9ebf2cb0d7]ANY [/b:9ebf2cb0d7]Yankees from 1926-1946 are fair game for either Yankees team. And, there may be one or two lucky managers who find one Yankee team rotated out in a particular season.

Some teams were combined to keep groupings competitive: the Boston teams, the Philly teams, and the Browns/Senators.

A handful of players are ASSIGNED to teams they do not have an eligible card for, but played for during their careers: Rip Collins, Pete Alexander, and Chick Hafey. Though he never played for them, Chuck Klein is assigned to the White Sox for competitive balance...and he did at least play for the Chicago CUBS......

Thanks for the welcome back Andy...interesting, the last franchise league i was in (one season 24 team) i had the Tigers then as well. Was for the entire ATG history of the franchise. Will be a fun challenge here with the year restrictions :-)

Question? so Harry Heilmann who played for the Tigers but has a card from 1925 can only be picked up by me (or the Reds) after the autodraft? And during waivers both my Tigers AND the Reds franchise can go afterr Heilmann since he played for both teams?

Or is Heilmann only eligible to the Tigers since he has a card for them and not the Reds?

Same with Ty Cobb i just realized :D (Tigers & A's)

Housekeeping Issues:

I have created a Committee of 5, choosing some guys who have done a lot of these leagues as well as some new blood. This committee will address any problems that may arise as we move forward. The main issue I see that could be a problem is if and when bernie puts new cards into ATG6. I think most of these cards will be chronologically "newer", but if a card is inserted that is in our particular era, it MAY affect competitive balance. This committee will help ME decide whether to insert the card or not, as well as tackling compliance issues. I have decided on 5 so that if an issue affects a particular manager, he can recuse himself from that particular decision. All managers may express their opinion on any matter, I just want to have a group to address these card issues that can be large enough to be unbiased without being so large that I have to contact every member of the league.

Our first season may see some unforeseen problems arise with particular groupings or with the league as a whole. LET ME KNOW OF PROBLEMS THAT MAY ARISE WHEN PUTTING YOUR TEAM TOGETHER.........
