I agree with Peter. I don't think it's fair to change the rules mid draft. I think we should have a clock on for every round after the first in every draft. Even though it's only one round in this draft, it's taken 5 days and we're still not done.
In our other league, we have a one hour clock where you know what timeslot you'll be picking in every day. This allows people to plan ahead, if you know you're not going to be around, you can send proxies. It also makes it so that you don't have to check in every 3 hours in case there's a flurry of picks. The drafts in that league finished much quicker than in this one, and no one complained. Perhaps that is something we could consider in this league?
