Worst season ever for Ken Tatum?

I'm certainly working on it.

102 games into the season, Ken Tatum for my '69 team has basically gotten his *** handed to him on a regular basis. I'm playing in Fenway, but 18 homers given up in 100 innings is pretty impressive for someone with zero homers on his card either way. In real '69 he surrendered a single home run in 86 innings.

stat W-L-S ERA WHIP HRs

Real '69 7-2-22 1.36 1.042 1
My team 3-11-19 3.87 1.25 18

Nearly triple his carded ERA is pretty good too. Not a very good investment for my 5.9 million, but I figure he should basically not give up another run the rest of the year to "even things out". :?

Are you sure you didn't get Jarvis Tatum instead?

Well, Ken Tatum's long nightmare of a season is finally over. He made a bit of a comeback, but not much. Ended up giving up thirty four times more homers than he did in real life '69. Yup, 34 homers. That was more than a couple of my starters!

Real '69 7-2-22 1.36 1.042 1
My team 7-14-31 3.64 1.26 34

I challenge anyone to find a worse season by him.

Who were your starters? How did they do? How about the rest of the bullpen?

I had a horrible autodraft, but I thought this team would be at least somewhat competitive. I think if Tatum and Odom would have even had half way decent seasons that I would have at least been over .500. Tatum and Odom are generally great money players, and both very well suited for hitters parks.

Not sure what to say about Tatum. Obviously all 34 homers came off the hitter's cards, so he certainly had some real bad luck. I think my defense was at least decent behind him. I never would have thought with all the money I spent on pitching that I would have a 4.7 team ERA though. And I made some moves that did help (via trades, I virtually didn't dump any salary). Essentially my team started with Wynn, Colbert, Fregosi and Hisle, and ended up with Reggie Smith, Killer, Tolan, and Brinkman.

I had some pretty bad luck with injuries too.

Well, you might have gotten a worse season than I did, not that it's anything to be proud of. :(

Can you send a link?
