... pitching leagues. :)

More than any other league I've played in (and I've played in a lot) my foray into 1969 baseball seems to be dominated by pitching. 21 games into the season, the league era is 3.39. My team is hitting terribly... .233/.360/.311... and I'm 4th in the league in runs scored.

Does this jibe with what others have been seeing?

In my league the overall ba is .249, overall era 3.73.

Definitely agree that pitching dominates ... although it's interesting that the two best hitting teams in my league have a combined record of 27-15. Both have subpar pitching. So you can still win if you manage to sort through all the deadwood and grab enough live bats.

Same impression here. My best effort at an offensive team is this:

Not too impressed so far, but Nash and Lonborg seem to be nice bargains so far on the mound.

Ed, I hear ya! I'm in that same league with you. My SP has been lights out and even though I lead the league in team BA...I'm dead last in runs scored.

I'm trying me a bomber team starting tonight. I went with a little more pitching than you did PJ, but I really don't have a leadoff. Gonna try Clarke (LHP) & Fregosi (RHP). Could be a long season.
