I was a fan of the 70s Oakland A's, and one of my most pleasant memories of the 1972 World Series against the Cincinnati Reds was the A's come from behind victory in the bottom of the 9th inning in Game 4. Mincher came up as a pinch hitter and delivered a game tieing single. It was his only official at-bat in that World Series. He retired as an active player a short time afterwards.

RIP

May Don Mincher find peace

Howdy,

I'm sorry to hear this. My thoughts are with Mincher's surviving family members. Mincher indeed made a contribution to the '72 A's title.
