We have had more than 115 people sign up so far! This is a turnout that is far exceeding our wildest dreams!

Here is the unofficial list. Please note that if there is an * by your name, it means I don't have an e-mail address for you. Please send it to teepack@netzero.com as soon as you can so we will have a way to get in touch with and let you know when new leagues are forming. Also, please check to make sure your TSN ID is on the list. There is a chance that we may have missed somebody. But in the words of the immortal Stuart Smalley, "That's ... OK!"

With so many participants I was thinking of a change for next year.

Drop the qualifing events to 6 ( still have only 5 count) and then have the top 24 play down to the champions league.

I think with so many teams there won't be that much of a difference in points for the top tier of teams. I would bet 10th-15th would only be a few points.

Just a thought. Next year is a long way off.

Throw me in as #116, info sent to e-mail.

I would not oppose a revision of the rules to adjust to reflect the huge turnout. Can't see why anyone would but unfortunately someone probably would and understand if there is no interest in trying to adjust until next year.

....or to 36 and then bring the 12 playoff teams to the finals.

Hey, I really like that idea of having 3 semifinals leagues, and then the playoff teams in each league moving to the finals. Since we are getting many more applicants than we have had in the past, that would be pretty cool to do that. I don't know about the logistics of doing it this year, though. I hate to change rules in midstream. We may wind up with more than 200 entries at the rate things are going!

Teepack, changing that now doesn't necessary cause a problem since we are at the start. That might have irked some managers if it was done after the 6th event.

I like the idea of three semifinal leagues.

The format for Event 7 and the Champions League are already identical. Why not just reduce the number of events to 6, still require participation in at least 5 events, and make Event 7 the semi-final round using the proposed Event 7 format? Events 5 and 6 would need to start a tad earlier so that the semi-finals could start at the proposed start time for Event 7.
Obviously, the caveat with this is that the last day for signup would need to coincide with the entry deadline for Event 2, instead of Event 3 (since not participating until Event 3 would preclude someone from finishing 5 leagues).

Another option would be to make adjustments somewhat like this:
Event 4: beg-July (as planned)
Event 5: mid-July
Event 6: beg-August
Event 7: mid-August
Semi-finals: mid-October
Finals: TBA (probably beginning of January, in time to complete before 2007 game comes out)

If owners would have a problem with starting leagues in such close proximity for Events 4-7, they could plan ahead and be sure to get their 5 events in without having to cram in 4 at the end.
