[quote:59e616343f="TomSiebert"]OK, here's my deal. Are we really set on having this thing launch Monday? Draft tonight,Waivers Sunday, then a rush to tinker before it launches Monday night?

I ask because I'm at SXSW in Texas and will have literally zero time to do much of anything. I can submit a team, maybe I can rush in a few waiver picks inside my crammed weekend, but I'll never be able to tinker.

Not sure how everyone else feels about this. I know it's very late in the year already, but doesn't anybody like some time to add/drop, work the system?

I'll submit my team because I don't want to be the turd in the punchbowl if everybody else is chomping at the bit. But there's my two cents.

tws[/quote:59e616343f]

We will not launch Monday. I will fill the last spot Monday so we have a Week to play around with everything.

--> BTW I am not the commish, just trying to get this going smoothly

Ok so that's 1 vote to draft today and 2 votes to draft next week.

Anyone else?

[quote:1a6dfb1867]For seeding, you always go like this:
1- 6 - 7 - 12
2- 5 - 8 - 11
3- 4 - 9 - 10[/quote:1a6dfb1867]

wait...why are the divisions by "seeding"???

every other league i have ever been in is:

1-4-7-10
2-5-8-11
3-6-9-12

why are we not honoring that in this league?

Seeding

Postby Fulty » Fri Mar 09, 2012 12:13 pm

I checked last year's Champions League message board and this same issue came up. For what it's worth, they used the final standings for seeding divisions (just like DT posted). The seeding had the 1st, 6th, 7th, and 12th place teams in the East, 2nd, 5th, 8th and 11th in the central, and the rest in the west. The draft positions had no bearing on divisions.

Also - if Tom has a challenge getting things done this weekend, I'm fine waiting until next week.

Well, I don't care which division I end up. I was originally the 33rd seed and now the standings says I'm #26. Either way, I don't have much of a say on which standings is used based on my ranking. Let me know when it's decided and I will load my team wherever.
With that said, if I were to vote for a format, I would go with the one below.

1- 6 - 7 - 12
2- 5 - 8 - 11
3- 4 - 9 - 10

I understand Tom's problem because it mirrors mine. Next week I'm at the SXSW Music conference, and beginning Wednesday will have literally no time for anything else. If we draft Monday, we'll have waivers Wednesday.

I know we're not drafting today. I'm just pointing out the hazards in accommodation, in a league with 12 people, what helps one out, usually hurts someone else.

Guys- with a 16 round live draft, the waivers are not as important. I appreciate everyone's concerns, and if you want I can delay until everyone has an open 5:00 times slot.

BUT WE NEED TO GET STARTED-

Divisional alignment is as I posted, it is the way all seeding is done. It is the way it was done last year, it is the way it will be done next year.

Can someone from the East please start the league?

THESE ARE CORRECT!

It is based on overall seeding.

It is NOT 1-4-7-10 based on draft order because then managers could essentially choose their divisions since each manager picked their draft position.

League is already there. Spicki and Tom are in, too. Ray needs to fill up East and then onto Central. Let everyone know when you join, Ray.
