Thanks [b:300c2e3164]C2[/b:300c2e3164], but I also apologize because actually I misread your post. I thought you were saying the 25 points would be deducted from tour standings totals (then see if you still would have made the semis). That would have left about a dozen of us in a position to potentially exploit the rule.

I agree, a 25 WIN deduction from the offender's win total in the semis, which I now see is what you meant, does indeed amount to effective disqualification in any likely scenario. So, I would have had no problem with that.

The terminology of playoffs, semifinals, wins, points, etc., can get a bit confusing in the tour context, at least for me, so I also agree it's simpler and cleaner just to state the penalty as DQ, if only to avoid possible confusion by poor readers like myself. :)

Thanks again.

cummings,

disregard my pm as I see you have made a decision. Thanks

The rule states a 10 point deduction and that deduction is for one season. Regardless, I think the dq is the way to go.

Ok. If the dq is the rule, then what do about the finals?

In the finals, we could have a reliever going 300 innings??

Shouldn't we have some preventive measure for the finals?

so what is the ruling on the finals? we need to have no limit on RP ip. otherwise what if a team makes playoffs but is DQ? it would mess up the entire playoff structure of the finals.

I can't speak for the Commish, but I think he's already indicated the penalty is DQ. I'd presume if somebody breaks the rules and goes on to win the championship, the runner-up becomes champ instead. Just like Miss America. So what's the problem?

Meanwhile, until [b:f9d16977df]C2[/b:f9d16977df] appears with further guidance, looks like this is the lineup for the Champions League:

Order for choosing live draft pick order (point rank in parentheses):

1. crs76 (1)
2. deeznuts515 (2)
3. Marklen (3)
4. Detroit-Tigers (5)
5. hendrix08 (6)
6. mesquiton (11)
7. weinberg (12)
8. bbasebrawl (15)
9. TexasKen (22)
10. DonFESQ (26)
11. exwallman (27)
12. WJS6768 (30)

Divisions:

East
1. crs76 (1)
6. mesquiton (11)
7. weinberg (12)
12. WJS6768 (30)

Central
2. deeznuts515 (2)
5. hendrix08 (6)
8. bbasebrawl (15)
11. exwallman (27)

West
3. Marklen (3)
4. Detroit-Tigers (5)
9. TexasKen (22)
10. DonFESQ (26)

Here's a [b:f9d16977df]link to the rules[/b:f9d16977df] for reference.

With the shotgun beginning, we never settled the super reliever rules. Some call for 150ip others think 200 is the magic number.

The argument tends to end up with 'it's too easy to have a RP go over 200ip'. Personally, that's only true if you set up the team for an RP (or 2) eat up that many [i:0141d1b2bd]in the first place[/i:0141d1b2bd]. Count me in the 150ip minority. Strat's pitcher usage 'limitations' are a joke. (Any RP over 130ish should be injured more frequently, IMHO).

So would 175 be a happy medium?

PS- event 1 lg 6 team is in division title contention with a RP at [b:0141d1b2bd]163ip[/b:0141d1b2bd] after [i:0141d1b2bd]132 games[/i:0141d1b2bd]. Not my division, but it matters.

The Rules say 200 IP I dont think you can change it now.

The 2010 posted rules appear to only address the regular events, not the semis and finals. The penalty stated is a 10 point deduction for exceeding 200 IP which can only apply to the regular tour events. I do think the innings pitched limit and the penalty to be imposed for exceeding the limit in the semis and finals should be decided and posted in advance of the semis so that it is clear to all.

The penalty for the semis and finals was settled by the Commish (for both exceeding 200 IP and duplicate ballpark use) with past rulings under the same posted rules: Disqualification. Nobody has ever broken the rules, so the penalty has never been needed.

Another question that needs to be answered: Will the semis be 3 leagues or 2 leagues this year? Last year we had 3 semifinals leagues, with 7 leagues finishing the regular season. Looks like we'll have at least one less league finishing the tourney this year.

This is my first year so I am just curious are you saying no one has ever broke the rules in the semis and finals before or no one has ever broke the rules during the regular events before. Because we already have 3 teams that have reused a ballpark ( 1 team has used the same ballpark in the first 3 events ). And we have alot of teams in event 1 endanger of having a RP going over the 200 IP ( 1 team has 2 RPs in danger ). I also would like to know if it is 24 or 36 in the semis.
