DEZman who in League I and II dropped all of his players and replaced them with .50 mil players. I understand that this is a choice by the owner but it affects the balance of the Division and potential playoff teams. If he were an inexperiencd Strat player I might understand but that is not the case here. Can you touch bases with DEZman and see what the rational is behind his moves so we all can understand and then let the community know? Until then I will not participate in a league that he joins. As far as gstanis goes and talking about resting players with 6-9 games left when you have things wrapped up, isn't that what happens in real baseball, since you are protecting your best players from injuries? That seems different than dropping salary unless you are resting your best players for the next 18-30 games and you have figured out a way around the salary cap and can then drop the players you picked up and get your best players back in time for the playoffs. SGT D,

Thanks for bringing this up. I have been made aware of this happening and have already contacted Bernie about this, all I know is that his teams seem to have been restored to pre-salary dump changes.

I have been having a very hard time logging in and posting here, as most of us have.

I will contact DEZ but regardless I think we'll switch back to signups for event four leagues and the password will be distributed via PM. I will try to get updated on the situation and will communicate with everyone here.

Sorry for the short and late reply, but its 3 am and this is the first real chance I get to post in a while.

I'm in one of those leagues (League 1) that DEZman dumped his team for all $0.50 players, and it is ridiculous. As would be expected, his team has now lost 11 straight divisional games here in the final week of the season, tipping the wildcard scales strongly to the 2nd place team in his division. Maybe the wildcard would have come from his division anyway, but it still leaves a bad taste with some teams thinking "what if...".

I noticed today his team has been restored, and when I clicked on his manager name to check out his ratings/records, it comes up with Bernie's profile. So I assume Bernie must have gone in to override DEZman's salary dumping...?? If so, thumbs up to Bernie for acting on that so quickly. Unfortunately for the rest of the league, we had to endure an intentional dumping of his team and games at the most crucial part of the season.

You're right Key, I did hear back from Bernie this morning and he did indeed override DEZman's moves. It is always unfortunate to go through uncomfortable situations but as you pointed out it's good to see Bernie stepping up promptly.

Thanks Bernie! 8-)

Onto filling league 3.6!

I will review how our down time may affect going forward on the championship for next events and will post some thoughts here later this week.

Good luck everybody

I'm delaying the start by one week because of the down time that halted everything.

Also we'll be switching back to signing up for leagues so as to distribute the league password via PM given recent occurances.

I'll open signup threads tonight and aim, ideally for all leagues to lead for league play 8-10 or 8-17

Okey dokey... time to get the tour back in shape, I'm finally able o access these boards and finally my hectic schedule gives me time to update and post with time to spare.

First off I would like to apologize for not being able to update on Championship news and happennings here as often as I would like to in the past several days but as I have posted before first the boards going down and then life has kept your commish out of the loop.

However, without further ado here's what I would like to adress:

1. Change of format while loading leagues for upcoming events 4 and 5
2. Ballpark rules and reminders
3. Up-to-date standings (unofficial, that is from my own files)
4. Updates on event 4

Change of format while loading leagues for upcoming events

Postby cummings2 » Fri Aug 07, 2009 4:20 am

Given some of the rather unfortunate incidents that have occured in this year's championship I have decided to switch back to sign-ups for each individual league, prior to forming the league. This is to avoid posting league passwords in the forums and avoid managers you do not want to participate in any given league with.

[i:e0ee0e913b]I will ask you to consider, as a common courtesy, to sign up for leagues when and if you are ready to load your team[/i:e0ee0e913b]. If you want to secure a spot I will open a late comers league so if your schedule won't allow you to participate in forming leagues there will be a spot reserved for you in a late league.

I hope we will be able to sign-up, load and lock as promptly in the last two events as we did in events two and three.

Once a league has started signups I will create the league according to the event's specs and PM the league name and password to those managers that sign up.

If you have any questions regarding this process please feel free to ask away :)

2. Ballpark rules and reminders

Postby cummings2 » Fri Aug 07, 2009 4:38 am

[quote:42b26c7486]X. Ballpark Requirement

Managers will be required to play in a different ballpark for each Event of the Tournament Schedule, including the Champions League. You may not pick the same park twice. If you do pick a park that you have used before, you will be fined 25 points off your total. In addition, the Champions League (drafted with a Live Draft) will require unique ballparks (i.e. two managers in the same league can’t use the same ballpark).

The above quote is taken from the rules as posted in the tournament's main page:

Player's Championship Main Page

According to my records, here's a summary, manager by manager of ballparks used per event.

Please review your parks and let me know if you see any discrepancies. Thank you.
