HANDICAPPING THE TOUR

Postby ERICTAYLOR 2 » Wed Oct 05, 2005 2:04 pm

With Event Four done, many Event Five leagues in the books (or close to it) and Event Six under way...here's how I see it.

[b:8ac5ce63f9]SOLIDLY IN[/b:8ac5ce63f9]

Everyone's favorite auto-leaguer [b:8ac5ce63f9][i:8ac5ce63f9]cristano1[/b:8ac5ce63f9][/i:8ac5ce63f9] is in the middle of a very solid Event Five and should move to the top of the ranks (with an average of at least [b:8ac5ce63f9]106.2[/b:8ac5ce63f9] by that event's conclusion. Only a total collapse keeps him out of the Chase.

[b:8ac5ce63f9][i:8ac5ce63f9]UTBill[/b:8ac5ce63f9][/i:8ac5ce63f9] (whom I believe sat out Event 5) needs only a solid showing in one of the final events. His score of [b:8ac5ce63f9]105.8[/b:8ac5ce63f9] after four Events should provide enough of a cushion to gain entry into the Chase.

Despite a poor Event Five, [b:8ac5ce63f9][i:8ac5ce63f9]BigAlric[/b:8ac5ce63f9][/i:8ac5ce63f9] still looks solid. After five events, his [b:8ac5ce63f9]104.4[/b:8ac5ce63f9] average should be enough. He needs to turn around his 18-30 start in Event Six (League 2) however. Getting that team back near .500 should be enough.

[b:8ac5ce63f9][i:8ac5ce63f9]Luckyman[/i:8ac5ce63f9] (103.3), [i:8ac5ce63f9]Detroit Tigers[/i:8ac5ce63f9] (103) [/b:8ac5ce63f9] and [b:8ac5ce63f9][i:8ac5ce63f9]etdefender[/i:8ac5ce63f9] (103)[/b:8ac5ce63f9] should all get in with relative ease. An interesting side note: etdefender (68-64) and DT (69-63) are in the same division in Event Five (League 5), battling it out for the division lead. ET overcame a difficult start and currently holds the WC spot in that league. ET is also 30-18 with a team he almost didn't enter in Event Six.

[b:8ac5ce63f9]SHOULD GET IN[/b:8ac5ce63f9]

[b:8ac5ce63f9][i:8ac5ce63f9]dneedle[/b:8ac5ce63f9][/i:8ac5ce63f9] is at [b:8ac5ce63f9]102[/b:8ac5ce63f9] after five events...
[b:8ac5ce63f9][i:8ac5ce63f9]uncleNY[/b:8ac5ce63f9][/i:8ac5ce63f9] is right behind him at [b:8ac5ce63f9]101.6[/b:8ac5ce63f9] after five events...
[b:8ac5ce63f9][i:8ac5ce63f9]Woods007[/b:8ac5ce63f9][/i:8ac5ce63f9] should get in as well, although his relative position is somewhat difficult to figure because of his late entry into Event Four. His Event Five team is off to a solid start (48-42) and it should take a significant collapse to keep him out of the chase.

[b:8ac5ce63f9][i:8ac5ce63f9]Stoney18[/b:8ac5ce63f9][/i:8ac5ce63f9]: One time leader has a 55-98 effort underway in Event Five...
[b:8ac5ce63f9][i:8ac5ce63f9]coffeeholic[/b:8ac5ce63f9][/i:8ac5ce63f9] Bad Event Five will drop him from the Top 12. More accurately, he is on the bubble as his Event Six team is off to a decent 38-31 start.

I predict that someone not on the list will still make the finals.......in fact I will guarantee it......of course not me but someone.........who will be that Cinderella man..........

I am hoping to be Cindarella Man(wasn't that a Russell crowe movie?). I'm in 18th place, I am tied for wild card in league five as of 10/7, leading my division in league #6 and I have only played four leagues to date, giving my average a bigger boost than most were I to win league #7. As they say, it looks good on paper(from my optimistic viewpoint) anyway.
