Has Anyone Heard From Bernie?

Postby Badjam » Tue Jun 05, 2012 5:31 pm

I do agree that these posts do not put anything ahead of Bernie's health.

I do think that the switch over would have happened as scheduled had Bernie been at full health. I know switches and moves can have their problems but with around ten teasers put out there it seemed that this is all set to go as soon as Bernie is ready to not get any sleep for a weekend. It seems some people are more negative about this than me.

another victim of an unnecessary self-imposed deadline. when you're ready, do it. no big deal. in the meantime, PLAYBALL! by the way, whatever happened to the manager bobby? think he lives in vegas?

But I also don't think anyone was asking Bernie to sacrifice his health to meet a deadline.[/quote:28384ac6a7]

Couldnt have said it better.

Welcome back, Bernie. I just hope you haven't rushed your return in any way. Far more important to have you healthy than anything else.

Tom

BTW, I believe b.o.b.b.y. and his family are still in Vegas, but I haven't heard from him since he retired. I think one of his sons may now be ready for college baseball. Like a lot of us, I miss hearing from him.

To Novie's post, I'll say that I didn't care for the sound of that comment by Petro...

It sounds to me like doubt being cast upon Bernie's situation as well as the general status of the move. Maybe I'm interpreting this wrong but I don't see any other way to read it.

I havent spoken with Petro, so I cant say for sure what he meant- I didnt read that he was wishing anything bad-

My reading- and my thought as well(or maybe just me), was that since a LOT of us were worried- that it would have been the right thing to do for EITHER bernie to update us or, if he was unable to do that for whatever reason, then someone from SoM should have taken the reins and let the community know something- maybe within a couple of days?
And just to be clear, I mean about his well being- not about the game.

Id also understand if it was something not wanting to be talked about- but then maybe something like a 'please standby' sorta thing? Maybe something else? I dunno, thought something though.

I'm with you there. It's been a bit frustrating to be in the dark like this but what can you do?
