Another way to pass the time - Drafting

Postby RICHARDMILTER » Wed Jun 20, 2012 11:14 am

Well I was wrong I guess, in the original copy of the rules e-mailed to me there was no mention of it. And I saved that e-mail.

But then why was there no mention of actual pitchers' hitting cards or generic ones?

I did not like someone telling me that rule changes are alright because it gives ME an advantage. Just pick a rule and stick with it.

Have you decided anything on whether we are using actual pitchers' hitting cards or the generic ones?

The "no DH" rule was posted [b:dd1e8333bf]2 entries above[/b:dd1e8333bf] where you signed up for the league. There's been no rule change since then, has there?

Still the question remains, actual pitcher's hitting cards or generics?

Except the original post has been edited 15 times since I signed my name.

I am over no DH, but I would still like to know the rules when it comes to pitchers' hitting,......... is that alright with you adults? Am I asking too much?

The roster spreadsheet shows the pitcher batting ratings, using the 8 pitcher hitting cards. That's what we're using, right?

You obviously do not own the CD-ROM.

And the original rule page has been edited 15 times,...since I signed my name.

Why am I the bad buy for wanting to know the rules?

The reason you have come across as the bad guy is because you have acted as if there is a conspiracy against you in the set up of the rules. Latorrer is the creator of this league and the one that set the rules, we did not all get together and decide them without you. I do not own the cd-rom game and I was unaware that there are now actual pitchers hitting cards that are different from the 8 generic ones.

FINAL RULING ON DH

Postby ROBERTLATORRE » Wed Jun 20, 2012 12:03 pm

In the "1977 Two Franchise League - Draft Setup" email at 6 pm yesterday, the manager spreadsheet clearly shows the pitcher hitting, approx 3 hours before the randomizer. It was my oversight to not post it in the rules section, my error but the intent was clear.

Second, i posted 2 hours before the first pick on the board, to clarify it.

The decision is final. If you feel that I am being dishonest or intentionally misleading or that you are at a disadvantage as a result of not having clarity on the dh rule, you can choose to not participate. I will assign a set of teams to hal and we will move forward.

The purpose of this league was to try to have some fun and for me personally to give back to the online community.

If you choose to not participate, I completely understand and will look forward to playing in the future with you once the new site is up.

This is the final ruling, I hope enough managers find this acceptable so that hal only has a couple teams at most

FINAL RULING ON PITCHERS HITTING CARDS

Postby ROBERTLATORRE » Wed Jun 20, 2012 12:06 pm

The CDROM game offers the option to use the actual statistically driven batters cards for pitchers.

This however is NOT an option for 1977. The AL used the DH in 1977 and the pitchers actual hitting cards do not exist.

We will use the generic 1-8 Pitchers hitting cards.
