Why is Joe Carter an injury 1 when he played in 162 games?

Why is Joe Carter an injury 1 when he played in 162 games?

I was just looking at his card and he played in all 162 games in 1986. Yet he is an injury 1. All the other players I have seen that played in every game are an injury 0.

What is the rationale?

It could be because the Indians played 163 games in 1986.

As goofy as it sounds, the Indians actually played 163 games that year, although only 162 games are registered in their final record. Partially-played games from rain delays, snowstorms, gnat infestations, etc. probably contributed to that one game missed by Carter.

I'd still use him. :D
