2011 Hall of Shame Under-Performers

[quote:d82923eff3="AeroDave10"][quote:d82923eff3="pczarnecki"]My first team of the 2011 set, as of 150 games played, Miguel Cabrera has 26 doubles. He hit 48 in reality.

I can understand the effect that stadium choice can have on HRs but doubles?[/quote:d82923eff3]

This trend seems to happen a lot in online SOM. People will hit the same or a greater number of HRs than their card, but the same or fewer doubles. It's kind of like the bpHR effect is in lieu of the ability to hit doubles rather than in addition to.

A similar effect is seen with BB/K ratio. There are almost always more Ks than the card and less BBs than the card, though that may be a bit more expected.[/quote:d82923eff3]

Through 21 games I have Mcab with 14 doubles and 6 HRs...I'm expecting a 30 game double-less streak.

About half of my guys are backward-performing through 90 games.

Jason Kipnis (2R) has higher BA, SLG, OBP and better HR/AB ratio vs. LHP.
Edwin Encarnacion (1L) is batting .305 vs. RHP and .095 vs. LHP (OBP and SLG are equally lopsided).
Dexter Fowler (1R) is 100-plus points higher vs. LHP in BA, OBP, SLG.
There are four or five others, but those are the most freakish examples.

Oh, and Mike Napoli is garbage vs. LHP: .207 BA with 1 HR in 87 ABs.

Of course this is a pitcher's year (lots of quality depth) for SOM. How much do you factor that into your offensive expectations?

Finally dumped Cliff Lee 5-9, 177 hits in 149 innings. 4.35 ERA 1.50 WHIP.
Replaced him with Shaun Marcum. first start complete game win gave up only 1 run.

I would like to challenge Granderson's Hall of Shame nomination:

Current league - through Game 159

618ABs
116 RUNS
149 HITS
14 DOUBLES
14 TRIPLES
51 HOMERUNS
122 RBIs
88 WALKS
14 STOLEN BASES 6 CS
.241 BA
.342 OBP
.557 SLUG

Plus he's got a pretty good glove. What's more, is that this is a $200M Keeper League. He went up against every top pitcher in the game.
I guess the secret is to play him in Rangers Ballpark or Coors.

I used Grandy once with terrible results.

I haven't counted his hit chances yet and don't have the ratings book. How many hit chances does he have?
