2011 Hall of Shame Under-Performers

I'm sure there are alot of them in this set.

I'll kick this thread off with a personal "favorite" of mine.

Yes I can read his hit/ OB chances and I'll still suckered into taking him...

PS- If anybody is using the over-priced (IMHO) Brendan Ryan, could they also post his #'s too? I'd like to see what $4.19 million could possibly get me...

I'm using Ryan as my SS in our Pre-card league, FWIW, it's 100 mil so I can swallow that for the 1.

Mine has go to be Maybin. He was hitting less than .190 after 300 ab's when I cut his ***. I didn't expect a .300 hitter, but I didn't expect a pure black hole either.

Yunel Escobar, in every league I am in, hits like a $2 wh**e

and Pedroia sucked big for me as well. I dropped him, someone else actually took to hit to pick him up, and is even hitting worse for him.

Like I said in another thread, I am not paying for defense anymore.

My "ace" Brandon McCarthy is 2-14 after 105 games, after starting the year 0-10. However, his ERA is 4.29 (not good but not horrible either), so a lot of it is bad luck.

Incidentally, Ben Zobrist is my second baseman, and I'm pleased with the value he provides.

I admit I tried to put a better light on Jeff Francoeur, in another thread. And that Jeff Francoeur is kind of still hanging in there. However, I have another Jeff Francoeur. I droped him down to platoon duty and it isn't helping.
142 abs, batting .190 with a .253 obp. 3 doubles a triple and 3 homeruns. Slugging .289.:(

This is a 100M but still......Mike Stanton, one of the highest priced RF in the set is doing horrible even at the Cell.

Giambi I thought would rock. He hasn't missed that much injury time but still isn't producing like I thoiught he would.

Bautista has the HR but a .230 BA isn't worth his salary to me.

Offense is bad this year, you say? Somebody forgot to tell Dan Haren and Madison Bumgarner- in Comerica:

Haren 77 IP's 6.66 ERA (EVIL!) 1.68 WHIP (more like whipped) 15 HR's

Bumgarner 96 IP's 6.19 ERA 1.62 WHIP 15 HR's- He gave up 12 in 204 IP's in real life

Alex Avila - .230 .342 .399 in 348 AB's in Progressive.

Playing full-time, he has only 12 HR's in 348 AB's facing only 29% LH pitching.
