Dear Ninersphan,

I apologize for cutting Carlos Baerga in 2003. That season was clearly a fluke - he hadn't been good for [i:0296ff7343]10 years![/i:0296ff7343] - but it wasn't an absurd card and 231 PAs is a lot.

I promise that when the time comes to re-launch the 2003 season on Strat-O-Matic.com, I'll put him in.

I hope we can be good friends.

Love,
Bernie xoxo

Perhaps if some guidelines were given up front. There needs be a point at which a player must be included. There can be grey areas, but we need to know what they are so we can make decisions armed with that knowledge. For example-

Under 100 pa's with a card value over 5M - OUT
101-150 pa's with a card value over 5M - GREY AREA
Over 151 pa's ALL PLAYERS IN

The point is we need a proper guideline, something we can use to make choices within the game.

As an example, and the reason I'm so pissed, I spent weeks drafting a keeper team. I gave up a solid asset to move up and pick Perez, who as C, seemed to have more than enough to get in the set with 155 pa. Had I known up front that this would be a grey area I would not have made that move. Now I'm a a disadvantage but am still committed to spending the $25 to play the game.

Bernie can you please explain the Perez decision.
Mike.

FWIW, I've never heard anybody complain about Pedro Feliz in the 2003 set.

The nice thing about him was his price. But as with anybody under 600PA's, you know the risk.

And Joe, this justifies the price increase?

Huh??

How'd I get to be psyche bearer for the entire SOM community???

was there a vote???

why didn't any one tell me??

In all seriousness though, thanks for the spirited discussion in this thread the last few days. I quite like it.
