You guys are hung up on names,
if all the cards said John Smith for player names, you wouldn't care.[/quote:0e90e3b8d2]

if all the cards said joe smith you would likely not be playing keeper leagues. the point of the keeper leagues is identifying the names at the top of the cards that can keep producing the cards right?

just going from memory but wasn't ellsbury excluded recently with a similar card?

i am also pretty sure they gain no benefit from maintaining the unleashed set. I bet it was put in just because of previous complaints about who was in or out. i bet it costs them more to include it than they make from it.

2007 set Ellsbury:
116 At Bats
Left side: 38.3 hit 46.3 OB 48.3 TB 0 w +6 12
Right Side: 38.3 hit 43.3 ob 53.1 tb 2.3 5 +6 13

De Aza:
152 ab's
Left side: 23.6 hit 36.6 OB 39.2 TB 0 w +6 7
Right Side: 34.9 hit 47.9OB 55.4 TB 2 2 +6 8

right from the ratings books, Ellsbury fewer at bats and much better vs LHP, so Still not seeing De Aza's exclusion.

Perhaps the fact that 133 of De Aza's 152 at bats were against right handers played a role?

My point is, part of what determines the "flukeiness " of the card, is whether it's "beleiveable" that player X is capable of producing similar numbers again. At least that's what I've heard the arguemenat here being for Including Lawrie and not De Aza. Or J Johnson despite his limited innings pitched.
So if you weren't all hung up on "there's no way De Aza could ever win a batting title in real life" it wouldn't be an issue.

my personal preference is that a september call-up should not win batting titles. I realize that is just a preference. can anyone involved in the testing speak to weather or not ADA was winning them?

Don't get me started, that's the one that still burns to this day, cause Carlos was a great player that had a few down years, then put up a very good card with over 200 at bats that was excluded in 2003.

That's the one that got me on the crusade to begin with.

His numbers in 2003:
Baerga 2003
Left: 29.2 hit 31.2 OB 44.5 TB .8 HR 1BP +8CL 23DP
Right: 37.2 hit 48.2 OB 44.5 TB .8hr 0BP +7cl 20 DP

am I the only one that saves the ratings books
