Introducing: Scheduled Frenzies

Postby voovits » Tue Jun 28, 2011 12:56 pm

As long as the league creator has the option to schedule the frenzy anytime, including at the same time the league fills if it was so desired, then I don't see the problem. Would it be difficult to include an option of "immediately after draft runs" to go along with all possible time slots?
Also, it could be difficult to predict when a league will fill. What if someone sets for the frenzy to begin at 3:00 PM and the league doesn't fill until after that, like 4:30 PM for example. That will throw everything off.

Of course I've never done a frenzy before, so I could be missing the point entirely.

[quote:001977d640="drfreeze49"]..how great would that be ...being able to see [b:001977d640]who you drafted before the frenzy[/b:001977d640]...then plot our course...[/quote:001977d640]
Yup, it obviously makes things more comfortable for everyone, to have the time to prepare. I'm only asking in case there are those who actually prefer the rush of being presented with the draft and the fresh free agent pool all at once, i.e. the way they're used to.

Voovits: I want to avoid having the option to run the Frenzy immediately after the league fills because that'd be certain to catch people off guard. As it is our interface is weak regarding inter-manager communication. We'll have to improve that.

[quote:d18f0f042e]My vote would be run the auto draft when league is filled...Frenzy starts at designated time..how great would that be ...being able to see who you drafted before the frenzy...then plot our course...and if you drafted well (not likely) you could even miss the frenzy if you wanted... [/quote:d18f0f042e]

Way bad and count me out on this.

First it does in my opinion defeat the purpose of a Frenzy...A Frenzy is both an adrenaline rush...[b:d18f0f042e]and a test to think on the fly.

More importantly this *preparation* can allow (and I've heard this before) customers to open multiple windows and just click away snatching player after player....Bad idea.

I like both options.

Especially in theme leagues where there is a draft (at least partial) first, the ability to have a draft then frenzy is a great tool.

But I love frenzies for the same reason Nev pointed out, I just don't think as many people feel the same way.

I agree with Nev on this one. Part of the thrill of the Frenzy is [i:14ecae79ed]not[/i:14ecae79ed] knowing in advance!

The truth be told a [b:063cf33d1a]frenzy at 100 or 80m[/b:063cf33d1a] is not that big a deal...I could pick players a [b:063cf33d1a]couple hours after the frenzy[/b:063cf33d1a] and still have a pretty [b:063cf33d1a]good team based on the player pool.[/b:063cf33d1a]..now at the higher bucks 140 and above a specific[b:063cf33d1a] frenzy is critical[/b:063cf33d1a]

Ok, there's enough inertia to keep it the way it's always been. Less work for me!

That is exactly what I would do, set up about 4 windows, 1 at each corner of my 32 inch computer screen, and then see if I could click 4 times fast enough to get the top 4 players. That was my first thought when I read about scheduled frenzies.

Now what I want to know is how Nev read my mind so fast.

Scheduled frenzies = good
Time delay between seeing your team and frenzy kickoff = Great if all 4 of my clicks make it through. 8-)
